Housed in 10,000-square-feet of renovated warehouse space at the intersection of 17th and Smallman streets, Mahla & Co Antiques opened its doors in 1995. The shop is family owned and operated like many businesses in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District. Owner Sue Cosgrove’s mother, entrepreneur Elizabeth Mahla, started the business hoping an Antique Shop would be a wonderful addition to the eclectic Strip businesses. Twenty five years later and still going strong proves she was right!
With 20 knowledgeable Antique Dealers displaying their inventory throughout the showroom, the selection is as varied as it’s customers. At any given time, over 50,000 items representing a cross section of eras from the 17th through 20th centuries adorn the warehouse. Furniture, fine and decorative art, lighting, carpets, china & glass, jewelry, vintage clothing and numismatic rarities are just a few examples of the fabulous merchandise available.
